Rock the Block
A group of volunteers have quite a story to tell about their Rock the Block Run event.
About Our Client
Rock the Block Run in Greenwood, Indiana features 5K and 10K run/walk events, a Kids Walk, a community celebration and music. More than 1,500 runners, walkers and volunteers had a great time and raised more than $25,000 that benefited 26 charities in 2017.
What They Needed
Organizers asked us to help produce digital channels and develop content to promote the event. We helped serve as the information conduit for runners, volunteers, sponsors and the community.
How We Helped
Our work, with help from volunteers, included:
- consultation on overall event marketing strategy.
- creation of a new website, RockTheBlockRun.org, that provided lots of details about the event and online registration. The new site features our Zephyr Content Management System.
- management of the event's Facebook and other social media accounts using Inbound Marketing strategies.
- creation and editing of content and distribution of weekly email blasts in the months and weeks leading up to the event.
What We Learned
Done right, a robust website and social media campaign can engage a remarkable amount of support for a great community cause.
